Ryedale Local Development Framework (
LDF
)
Latest News
News Update: 21 January 2010
The latest
news is that the Council will be undertaking further consultation
in the early spring of this year, a little later than we had
planned. We are intending to publish the Core Strategy to the
Planning Inspectorate in the autumn. This means that we will need
to review our Local Development Scheme (work programme) and must
obtain approval from the Government Office of Yorkshire and the
Humber for the revised timetable. We will upload the revised Local
Development Scheme once this has been updated.
The Local Development Framework
The Council is preparing a Local Development
Framework or LDF to replace the 2002 Ryedale Local
Plan.
What is a
LDF
?
The
LDF
is a
folder of documents which together will form the local element of
the development plan for Ryedale. It will make provision for new
housing, employment and retail development for the next 15 years.
It will also guide other forms of development as well as protecting
key Ryedale assets such as environmental and historic assets.
The two main documents of the Ryedale
LDF
are the Core
Strategy, which sets out broad planning policy, and the
Facilitating
Development document which will set out allocations for
different types of development. The Core Strategy will be prepared
in advance of the Facilitating Development document.
What about the part of Ryedale
in the National Park?
